Established in 1982, Harbour holds an Unrestricted Trust Company License and a Mutual Fund Administrators License and is regulated by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority. Our Expertise.

Directors have ultimate responsibility for overseeing all aspects of a fund’s operation – including those functions delegated to the investment manager and other service providers. As such, directors must have extensive and relevant industry experience and appropriate professional knowledge and qualifications. This is why at Harbour we only put forth the most accomplished and experienced individuals to serve on fund boards. We service many of the world’s largest funds and have been providing directors to funds for over 20 years, during which time the firm and its team of directors have successfully navigated a number of difficult markets. We have significant leadership experience under all conditions.

Our Independence.

The investment funds industry operates on the basis that a fund has no direct employees and delegates the investment management, administration and accounting functions to other professional service providers. As such, it is of critical importance to engage non-executive directors that are truly independent of all fund service providers. This ensures unbiased oversight of the various fund structure participants, avoids real and perceived conflicts of interest, and ensures effective issue resolution. Your Advantage.

Institutional Infrastructure. Harbour is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Cayman Islands office of Rawlinson & Hunter, which has been in business since 1973. Rawlinson & Hunter is an international grouping of professional firms specialising in the provision of trust and financial services whose network of offices includes: Australia, Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Jersey, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland (Geneva and Zurich) and the United Kingdom.

In short, we are a licensed and regulated professional  services firm with all the related benefits, including a robust infrastructure with 4 partners and over 60 staff locally, as well as access to multi-jurisdictional resources.

Bespoke Service. Rather than using our institutional resources to leverage capacity, our directors limit the number of personal directorships held so these benefits   accrue fully to the funds we service.  We also understand that financial markets change quickly and that funds need to be able to rapidly respond and adapt. As such, we are always available to discuss and work through fund matters that arise. We also understand that raising and retaining capital is of critical importance.  As such, we make ourselves accessible to investors and prospective investors to answer their questions, ensuring that they are satisfied with the corporate governance structure the fund has in place.
